The biggest hurdle I faced with converting my site from Wordpress to Joomla however, I had Podcast feeds set up under Wordpress. Now to find an extension capable of doing what PowerPress does for Wordpress.
Much to my amazement, Podcast Manager is pretty close, While it lacks a niceties that PowerPress and Wordpress offer, Joomla with Podcast Manager is a good start if you like the Joomla features.
So, I converted an entire site over to Joomla with Podcast Manager and pretty soon after I found most of my podcasts had been converted to this combination.
As I said, I still recommend Wordpress with PowerPress for those that just need a simple way of publishing a Podcast, but if you already have Joomla installed and are looking at adding a Podcast then the Podcast Manager plug-in for Joomla is the way to go.
Even if you simply prefer Joomla, Podcast Manager is an easy way to get up and running. It does lack some ability from what I can gather though. For example it does force you to host the mp3 files on the same server, also there seems to be no way of adding Media Redirect URLs in order to use a 3rd party statistic service such as BluBrry.
I'm going to be looking at solving these minor issues on my own installations of the coming weeks, So I will let you know how that goes.
