Swype Keyboard on Telecom GT I5503T Android 2.2
I have successfully updated my Telecom Samsung Galaxy GT i5503T to Android 2.2 via the Kies application.
The firmware upgrade went very smoothly with no real issues. Well, Except one. The Swype keyboard stopped working and my phone simply vibrated frantically and I couldn’t type anything. I switched the input back to the Samsung Keyboard and instantly hated it.
Frustrated I started playing around and managed to stumble upon a fix for the Swype Keyboard.
Go into your Settings > Application > Manage Applications and select the “ALL” tab at the top of the screen.
Scroll down to Swype and tap it. You will then be taken to a screen where you’ll get one active option to “Clear Data”
Simply Tap the “Clear Data” button then you can go back to the Language and Keyboard settings where you can setup the Swype Keyboard, and again change the Input back to Swype.
Worked like a dream, I’m now back on Swype and running Android 2.2 on my Telecom Samsung Galaxy GT i5503T.
