Wow, where did the past week go. Seems to be a common feeling for me now, weeks just fly by. Fortunately the earthquake in Chile last weekend didn’t eventuate into anything too much here in NZ. We had a few surges and lots of people ignoring the warnings not to go down to the beach etc. My thoughts go out to those who were effected in the event.

Yes, there are only 2 days left of Summer here in New Zealand. Been pretty fortunate the last few days have been wall to wall blue sky. Now this is what summer is all about.

Today I ask for your opinion on an idea I’ve had regarding a new podcast channel on XTN. I would love to hear your thoughts. It’s still in the planning stages but let me know what you think.

Just read an article over on Crunchgear regarding the birthday of the BBS (Bulletin Board System) Bought back a lot of fond memories of the late 80’s early 90’s for me

Back before we had the Internet on the scale we do today, tying up the phone line for hours on end dialled in to a BBS waiting for 60 minutes to download a 1meg .zip file on a 2400baud modem on an old Amstrad PC1512 with monochrome graphics (if you could call it “graphics”) and a 20meg hard drive with a 5.25” floppy drive

Had an unfortunate mishap with the car last Sunday, turns out we broke a rocker. Not sure how we managed that but will be with out a car for a few weeks I think. Although, I have to say it hasn’t been too bad not having the car

I seriously need to get the air flow in the studio sorted out, been very hot and muggy which in turn does not make for a pleasant or comfortable situation.

This episode turned out to be a little shorter than the planned episode length and I think it feels a little too rushed. So I apologise for that, I also forgot to close the windows.

I think I’m slowly getting the format of the show sorted, though I know I need to slow it down a little bit. But as a fellow podcaster says “It is what it is” and I’m sure as I get further into it I’ll have it nicely fine tuned. After an extended break I’m back on deck and looking forward to recording regularly.

Seems like only yesterday was the beginning of 2009, and now we’re in to 2010. Just when I get use to writing one year I have to remember to write a new one Got an awesome show lined up for you. I have made some minor changes to the pre show preparation that goes into the show before recording actually starts. I hope you’ll bear with me while I fine tune the show production.

I should also note that after a very pathetic episode 1, which probably should never have been released when it was. But as a friend and fellow podcaster says, “It is what it is”

Welcome to the first episode of the Xunil Tech News Podcast.

Exciting stuff happening around here at the moment. One of them being the new Xunil Tech News Podcast – A weekly look at tech news from New Zealand and around the world.

Lots of planning and organisation going into this and so far everything is on track, except for a couple of Wordpress plugin issues I’m having but hopefully they’ll get sorted in the near future and neither effect the podcast directly.
