If you've been following my Twitter, Facebook or Google+ updates this afternoon, you would have noticed I embarked on a mission to upgrade Joomla! 1.7.3 to 2.5.0. All in all the upgrade process went pretty smoothly, initially I had only planned on upgrading a couple of sites which had few extensions installed, due to some issues I had with various extensions while testing 2.5beta1, 2.5beta2 and 2.5RC1. -

As some may be aware, I recently migrated my websites from Wordpress to Joomla. This transition has gone extremely well over all. Recently I began playing around with Joomla as I was trying to sort out an upgrade path from Joomla 1.5 to 1.7 for someone. After a few hours of playing with Joomla 1.7 (I actually didn't like 1.5 that much) I quickly began liking the abilities of Joomla. I installed a clean install on a test server and began configuring one of my sites, which ran Wordpress. While I still love and highly recommend Wordpress for its ease of use, Joomla became increasingly desirable for my own requirements. -
Google+ as I see it

Well, I’ve been on Google+ for coming on 5 days now. As it stands I think there is a lot of potential when it becomes more widely available. The biggest issue I see with it at present, is the fact that it’s a requirement to have a Gmail account. Though this may only be a beta limitation. However, as such it does seem a little quiet around Google+ in comparison to the likes of twitter and Facebook because most of my Facebook contacts don’t have Gmail accounts so I can’t invite them to join.
