A podcast about Linux, with an Arch BTW slant.
This show will deep dive into Arch Linux and of course, the wider world of Linux, and everything Open Source.
My Linux journey started back in the late ’90s with Red Hat 5.1. From there, I hopped through Fedora, CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu, eventually settling on Ubuntu as my daily driver since 4.10 in 2004.
But like so many of us, I was stuck in a love-hate relationship with proprietary hardware—especially for my desktop. Every time I tried Linux as a Desktop, something fell short for Hardware support. For years, I dual-booted Linux Mint alongside Windows, I ran Ubuntu under WSL, and grudgingly tolerated Microsoft’s quirks. But with Microsoft doubling down on Windows 11 telemetry, ads, and lock-in, I finally snapped.
why ‘Arch BTW’? Well, if you’ve spent any time in Linux communities, you know that Arch users have a certain reputation for mentioning their distro at every opportunity. So yes, the name is a little tongue-in-cheek. But beyond the meme, Arch represents something bigger: a DIY ethos, transparency, and the power of choice—values that resonate across the entire open-source world.
